RE: Need Mico Clasica 20 DVD Hack !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Follow Up from last mail

Can confirm Macrovision Switch Off with your hack, made good recording test using Scart box

Have just bought £9.75 box from Argos (534/0370 ), 3 Selectable Scarts in for 1 out but also allows direct feed of two of the Inputs to the recording device (VHS) on 3rd input.
Extra bonus has phono outputs in parallel so can take stereo sound from Video or DVD to HiFi

Also has an RGB switch.

There is another box on same page for same price.

Thanks

RE: Need Mico Clasica 20 DVD Hack !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

I`ve just bought a Mico Classica 20 in Savacentre having toyed with getting a Tosh 110 or 210 (dearer but more facilities) with multiregion upgrade. The Mico seemed cheaper and had all the facilites and other Micos were multiregional so I gambled this is too.

The player works well with my cheap mono Tesco TV via SCART but the volume is low via TV.

I tried your method and accessed the "service" menu.

I altered the region to 0 but having only region 2 discs (new purchaser) can only say that it still plays.

I can confirm Macrovision flag resets on power up but didn`t try a recording.

I noticed that Error Correction (page 2) is set to OFF

Any idea what some of the other options are for? (just curious).

Some players only allow a fixed number of changes: does this apply to the Classica 20?

I had a query on Set Up and contacted Mico on www.micoelectric.com and had a speedy reply.

If you have any more tips on this unit I`d love to hear but fear this will be one way traffic.

Thanks again
