RE: Whats the most hours you have clocked up on a game?

Probably The Lords of Midnight , when I should have been studying in school I would play that game for hours. Have not played another game like it that captured my imagination , could not say how many hours exactly , must have been 100+

Here is a tough one!!

Howdy all

A friend of mine asked me the other day about transfering her home movies to DVD. She does not have any equipment at present apart from a PC ,a DVD player and a cast for the movie(her dog). What is the best route?
She is interested in getting a DV camera , how would she transfer this to be able to play it in her DVD ? I thought the best route would be to somehow link her camera up to her PC and copy the film to a CDR. (if only life was that simple) I have since realised that this sounded like I have not got a clue!! Would she be better off copying to a CDR in VCD format(is this even possible?)Obviously she would need all sorts of compression software.
Can anyone even follow me on this as I am starting to lose it myself !!

Her solution was to buy an old "home movie" type camera as there is somewhere in the USA that will transfer this stuff to DVD for her , but I now have to find out if what I said to her was possible!!

Thanks
G

RE: LOTR Ruined!!!!!

If you really want to see it on one disc - wait till Blu-Ray comes out!! Should be just in time for "Lord of the Rings Trilogy- The Directors Cut" it will fit all 3 films onto a single disc with all the sound you could possibly want.(assuming they stick to the proposed 27Gb format)

RE: Problems with Sony DAVS-300 !!! HELP NEEDED

I have a Sony DAVS-300 but it ain`t multi region!! Did you have yours chipped ? If the code "C:13:00" appears in a small blue box then it might be something to do with the transfer rate , there is a button on the remote for this. I presume you have looked in the manual at the list of errors?

50Htz , 60Htz , what the Htz?!!

I have a 100Htz Sony TV connected to my Xbox. I am having difficulty getting my head around all this 50/60 Htz stuff. Some games are said to run better in 60Htz mode , and some better in 50Htz. What is the difference , and if my TV is running at 100Htz will I notice any??

RE: 100Hz Screen + Digital TV = Bad Combination ??

I have a Sony 32fx65b 100Hz , perfect picture quality from Sky Digital , have had no problems with it at all , am i just lucky??!!!

RE: GameCube ???

The GC uses special 3" discs , they undergo the same basic process as replicating a DVD but because they are smaller Nintendo gain 2 advantages , 1) They are harder to make pirate copies of as the moulds used by Nintendo to press these discs are not needed by any other factories
2) They don`t have to pay any DVD licencing fees (this is why the Xbox is not DVD playable out of the box , you need a seperate add on controller , so Microsoft could keep the price of the unit down - don`t believe any of that "we wanted it to be a games machine first" crap.

RE: Optical Link for 5.1 prob

I presume then there is no "magic box" that converts optical to any other use (something with mirrors i imagine!) . OK , so basically if I want 5.1 I have to buy something. Is there a small , cheap "magic box" available out there ???!!!?? Please!!!

Optical Link for 5.1 prob

Howdy folks ,

I have a possible problem , I am buying an "XBOX" console when they launch , but they have an optical output for 5.1 . My problem is that even though I have a Sony S300 dvd system with 5.1 , I don`t think it has an optical input point , any suggestions as to how I can work around this ?

Problems with my connections!!

Hi all
I have a Sony S300 and need to know how to get the sound from my Sky digibox playing through it (it`s a PACE box) , I have a Sony Wega with 3 Scart plugs and a S-Video plug in it Model 32FX65B (I think) . Anybody know how to get all sound going through the S-300

Thanks
