RE: Alba now only £140 at Toys R Us.

Yes to the Matrix. No problems with any of the extra features. I don`t know about the others or CD-rs/MP3s, someone more technically inclined will know the answer though!

Alba now only £140 at Toys R Us.

And yes it`s still region free.

Woolworths also have the Proline 1000 for £150 but it tends to seel out a lot. Out of the two I went for the Alba and am *very* happy with it.

Alba at Toys R Us for £140. Multi-region out of the box....

I kid you not. I`ve tested it with two region 1 discs (Matrix and Army of Darkness) and both worked fine. No keypad hacks or anything. It`s a good little machine too, nice picture and sounds, good features hampered only by the fact that the remote is a little on the fiddly side.

I don`t know how long it will stay multi-region before they get told to change it but if you`re looking for an entry level MR machine I recommend it.

Woolworths are also selling the Proline 1000 for £150 and actually advertising it as multiregion in out local store (I didn`t think they could do that) but they tend to sell out.
