RE: Free £1 voucher for CD-Wow

It just worked - brilliant -

Just got the 3 Three colours movies for 18 Euro in total - Cheers

RE: Free £1 voucher for CD-Wow

Doesn`t seem to be true for me anyway.

Yes the url exists - but when I click on it and compare it to the site accessed without the link the prices look to be the same.

RE: Free £1 voucher for CD-Wow

Eh - I`m probably pretty dumb but I can`t see how this works!!

I`ve put in my email address got the email from CD-Wow - pasted in the link, tried to order Three Colours White I think it was at £4.99 but it still keeps coming up at £4.99 and has a couple of boxes to enter codes.

I went as far as the enter your credit card details stage. Does the £1 get taken off in the latter stages or what?

The Life of Brian - Criterion Version (Region 1)

I usually get my DVD`s from Play but have just noticed that CDWOW have recently got their act together on non-region 2 titles.

I was going to get the Criterion verion of LOB from Play working out at roughly 42 Euro (divide by 1.6 for Sterling = 25.99) cos it has all the extras that the Region 2 version doesn`t but just by chance checked CDWOW.ie (Irish version I know - presume similar saving on UK site but it`s free worldwide delivery either way!!) and it worked out at 29.99 Euro (about 18.74 stg).

Also noticed that CD`s can be up to 4 or 5 euro cheaper on CDWOW. It`s worth checking both sites if you`re looking for any CD or DVD as for international customers anyway these two sites are the best. Just checked DVDsoon and they work out just slighlty dearer than cdwow for LOB but I`ve never used them so I`ll stay with what I know!

RE: Packard Bell 5800 Speakers - 6 into 2 won`t go - help!!

Thanks Guys - Looked at Techtronics and they have the Philips 762 for a pretty reasonable price. In the diagram for their audio outs etc., they have six outlets - I think this is what I`m looking for to be compatible with the Packard Bell speakers, is it??????? I`m going to try and see if I can find one in the high street to be absolutely sure.

One more question - when a machine is described as having 5.1 ch (as opposed to 2 ch) does this automatically mean that it will have the six outlets (2 for front, 2 for rear and 2 for bass)?

RE: Packard Bell 5800 Speakers - 6 into 2 won`t go - help!!

Thanks - he offered to sell me his Pioneer 717 for a reasonable price but which is Region 2 (currently have multiregional Philips). He knows where I can get the Pioneer chipped but do you or anyone know if whether this model experiences any probelems after being chipped.

Tell me more about the Denon AVR 1602 - how much, where to get, should it be compatible with any speakers and does it include the subwoofer? Any help appreciated.

Packard Bell 5800 Speakers - 6 into 2 won`t go - help!!

Hi,

Got a present of these well reviewed speakers but unfortunately where it has six connections to go into my Philips DVD 711, the DVD player on ly has two input channels (only two speakers will work). Is there any way of getting around this problem? Guy in a hardware shop tells me no and is trying to flog me his own Pioneer DVD player which has the six connections. But there`s usually a way - is there some interconnector maybe??

Cyerhome ADL-528 Audio Problems

Hi,

I just bought this machine for my Dad, but there seems to be a problem with the audio.

The soundtracks (music) on DVD`s seems to play fine but the dialogue between actors is very low and we have to turn the volume nearly all the way up to hear it. Of course then we get a blast of loud music!

Has anyone else had problems like this or is it just simply a setup thing? I`m ony using DVD into TV - scart and and power cord - not the yellow/red/white ones as this setup was fine with my own Philips player. Can anyone advise?
