the Alba 45 is in fact the 45xi and is multi out of the box! plays cd/r mp3 but not vcd as far as i know! If any one know a hack for the vcd/ svcd it would be appreciated!

bill, lewie again i have the same set up but no problems! You say you linked it to the front input on the sub, i have no front inputs on mine! I just linked them up and hey presto.i take it your getting no sound speech then! Youve obviously switched the downmix to off. sorry cant help.

I fully agree with Bill, athoughi ahve not tried mp3. i have just purchased a packard bell 5.1 system from pc world and it sounds fantastic, all for under £100.

I purchased the 838 from special reserve in December, an excelent player! Multi region, no macro superb picture. I love it! Try afterhour.co.uk, I believe it`s £135 inc vat. Any questions am happy to answer.

THE MULTI REGION SELECTION DOES WORK! AND I HAVE FINALLY SUSSED OUT HOW TO `BACK-UP` MY DVD`S.AS FAR AS I CAN SEE THE MACRO IS NOT ON! I POPPED JP3 (REG1)IN AND COPIED IT, NO PROBS! ANY MORE INFO REQ DONT HESITATE TO ASK (TV/SKY VID SET UP ETC.)

have just received my 838d yesterday, paid £142 from special reserve seems realy good! i purchased it to replace noisy cyberhome, much better. if you need any more info just ask!
