Region 1 DVD playback problem

I have a Fidelity TV (PAL) and a Wharfedale M5 which is hacked to play multiregion.

If I play Region 1 DVDs on the M5 they come out black & white and grainy on the PAL TV but if I connect the M5 to my NTSC compatable portable TV they play fine.

How do I sort this problem ?

Problems playing Reg 1 DVDs through PAL TV

I have a Wharfedale M5 DVD player which I have hacked to play Region 1 DVDs. However, when I try to play them direct through my Fidelity PAL TV the picture is black & white and grainy - I have exactly the same problem playing back tapes on the TV from my NTSC camcorder.

I can play NTSC videos on my Video player and they come out fine on the TV .

Has anyone got any ideas to get round the problem apart from presumably buying an NTSC compatable TV ? - eg can the TV be "chipped" to make it compatable or is there a way of connecting the DVD player via the Video player which might eradicate the problem ?

Regards
