RE: Scruffy, The Huffy Chuffy Tugboat by Bad Manners
I`ve already ordered my copy!
Scruffy, The Huffy Chuffy Tugboat by Bad Manners
To the guy who was after this a while back, I couldn`t find my vinyl copy of it, BUT, you can now get it on this compilation CD:

RE: TEVION 8000 / 8001 HDMI dvd player - disc freezing problems
I had the same problem and took it back to Aldi for a replacement.
Works fine now.
Don`t forget that it`s covered by a 3 year warranty.
4 CD Bargains at HMV
H.M.V. are doing some good deals on these 4 CD sets. I`ve already got the Police & The Jam ones and paid £30 each for them so these are a bargain at £14-99 each with free delivery.
They`re not out until early November, but that`s not long to wait.

RE: Badmanners "Scruffy the Huffy Chuffy Tugboat"
Haven`t forgotten, but I`ve had some serious problems with my PC which resulted in a complete reinstall of Windows.
Just bear with me!
RE: Badmanners "Scruffy the Huffy Chuffy Tugboat"
Let me know if you get stuck and I`ll dig the old LP out and try and MP3 it for you.
RE: Badmanners "Scruffy the Huffy Chuffy Tugboat"
I know the song well, but have only got it on the original vinyl album which is in storage.
AFAIK the original album has never been released on CD unfortunately.
X-Files Season 1
For anyone who hasn`t already got it (I haven`t!) Sendit.Com are doing Season 1 of the X-Files for £12-99, with free delivery.
Elton John DVD in Tescos
Picked up Elton John`s Dream Ticket 4 DVD set in Tesco`s in Yeading for £9-97. It was selling for thiry quid a year ago.
It`s three separate concerts, one with full band, one with an orchestra, and one with just Elton and piano, plus a fourth disc of Elton through four decades.
What I`ve seen of it looks excellent and for a tenner it`s a steal.
RE: Anyone off to see Robert Plant in December?
And the support band, the Legendary Shack Shakers, were rather good too.
Plant was out of this world though, a man at the peak of his game.
RE: Cheap Simpsons Boxsets
Blah DVD are currently taking orders for The Simpsons Season 5 at £14-99, to be realeased on 7th November.
Also, Seasons 1 -4 @ £13-99 each.
RE: Anyone off to see Robert Plant in December?
Yep, got my tickets and looking forward to it.
I haven`t seen Robert live for a couple of years and Mighty Rearranger is by far the best album I`ve heard all year.
RE: BNI dvd recorder 1000 r odd fault?
What I meant was, should I pay a bit more and go for a better quality model?
It does take minus and plus discs and also has Dolby 5.1 built in but do you get what you pay for with DVD recorders or are the budget models OK?
RE: BNI dvd recorder 1000 r odd fault?
Empire Direct are doing this for £119-99 here:
http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/Content/Products/Details/index.asp?modelcode=BNI-1000R#recomm
Is it worth that money or should I pay a bit more?
W.H.Smith bargain
Went into my local W.H.Smiths (Hayes,MIDDX) today and got the Hannibal Lecter Trilogy DVD set including Red Dragon, Silence Of The Lambs, anfd Hannibal for £19-99. Don`t know if this was just a one-off in my local store as it`s listed at £39-99 on the Smiths web site.
I`m happy though!
Cyberhome CH DVD 400
Like many others who read the reviews on here I bought one of the Cyberhome CH DVD 400s from W.H.Smith last year and very pleased I was with it too.
That was until the power supply blew up the other day. On checking my receipt I found that I had purchased it a year and four days previously and assumed that was my lot. However, on ringing Cyberhome I found that the machine was coverec by a TWO YEAR warranty and that they would send me a new one and collect the old one.
There seems to be a problem with those manufactured between May and June 2003 so if anyone else suffers from this porblem it`s worth giving Cyberhome a ring.
Excellent service I`m sure you`ll agree.
RE: 5.1 sound system £49.99
Does anyone know if it`s got the 5.1 decoder built in or do you need a 5.1-equiped DVD player to get the full effect?
RE: PS2 Console £105.99 delivered
A timely post as the laser on my aging PS2 has just died. A new laser would have been £45-00 at least.
Thanks
:)
Cheap hard drives at Maplins
Maplins are selling 120 gig hard drives for £69-99 but only until the weekend. If you go to their web site and sign up for their newsletter then you get £6 off and free P & P, bringing it down to £63-99.
Be quick if you`re interested as they`ll go fast at that price.
RE: The Shield, any good?
The best US cop show since NYPD Blue, without a doubt. Very violent though, especially season 2, which is showing Tuesday nights on Channel Five.
RE: Ridiculously Cheap Beatles DVD
"`I`m looking forward to when CDWOW ship their stock of Anthology - a bargain @ £32.99 ;)`
Won`t C&E add their cut on top of that? There was something in the Sunday Times about them doing that to CDWOW stuff recently. I`ve gone for the safer option of Amazon at £35.99. "
I was worried about that and emailed CD-WOW and they assured me that I wouldn`t be charged by Customs & Excise so ordered from them.
I suppose time will tell.
Region Encoding
A quick question. I`ve successfully played region 1 and region 4 encoded DVDs on my Cyberhome AD-N212 player but does it make any difference if they are NTSC encoded as I notice some of them are on the CD WOW website?
Dantheman, HELP!
Dan, or anyone else who may be able to help:
I posted a query on the software forums just after Christmas about why Fawlty Towers would not play on my Cyberhome ADN-212 player but works OK on my PC DVD drive under Power DVD software.
Dan said he might be able to help but I assume he`s either not able to after all, or been too busy.
Anyone else know why this should be and whether it`s a hardware or software problem and if there`s any way to fix it.
I thank you in advance for your assistance gentlemen.
RE: Attention Pop pickers
It`s called Baddest Ruffest by Backyard Dog and it came out back in summer 2001 originally on EastWest records. I don`t know if it`s still available but the catalogue number on my CD single is EW233CD.
RE: R2 Billy Connolly live 2002
Not with the Billy Connolly disc no, but a simlar problem with Fawlty Towers. My player is a Cyberhome AD-N 212 and like your model, normally handles any disc without problem, but not Fawlty Towers.
However, it plays perfectly on my PC`s DVD drive under Cyberlink Power DVD software.
Is this a problem confined to Cyberhome players I wonder?
RE: Fawlty Towers DVDs
Dantheman, you`re a star!
It`s a Cyber Home AD-N 212 which I have changed to make it multi-region compatible. I thought it might be something to do with this so changed it back to Region 2 without any success.
Thans again for your help mate.
Fawlty Towers DVDs
Just bought both Fawlty Towers DVDs in Wollies for £8-99 each and have had problems playing them on my Cyberhome DVD player connected to the telly, but they work fine under Power DVD on the PC.
I read in a thread on here that there were problems with these discs but does anyone know if the BBC made a decision on putting out a fixed version.
Seems a shame that if I have a few friends round, we`ve all got to crowd around the computer (and I can`t afford a new DVD player before anyone suggests it!)
:-)
Playing Region 1 DVDs on Cyberhome ADN-212
I`ve converted my Cyberhome ADN 212 to multiregion using the hack on these pages and wish to purchase a Region1 DVD to play on it. Before I shell out the cash, do I need a particular TV with NTSC capability or will it work OK with my Akura 28" widescreen job(£229 from Courts and well pleased with it!)?
Blockbuster Video
I don`t know if this applies to all stores but my local Blockbuster (Hayes, Middlesex) is selling Walking with Dinosaurs for £9-98 which I believe is half price.
Quite a few other DVDs in their sale too, though I`ve got most of them already. Why does that always happen to me?
;-)
RE: Freddy Kreuger slashed again to £25
Thanks for that Claudia. I missed out on it when HMV were doing it so I was glad of a second chance to get it for twenty five quid. Post free too!
