Not long at all actually, when the third movie (Return of the King) has it`s theatrical release, the 3rd DVD will follow, along with a box set AND the director suposedly wants to release a seamless 10 hour DVD of the three book tale. Nice idea, but who will sit for 10 hrs?

My Auntie got a Nikon DVD player for xmas. Is there a region hack for Nikon players?

Old J.R.R would be proud, even though he never wanted it 2 be a movie.
I can`t wait to see the flashback of Smeagol being devouerd by the ring and slowly turning into Gollum. Gollum is 100% CGI in The Two Towers next year. I really can`t wait. And one last thing, if you haven`t seen it yet, when it finishes, ignore those f***ing idiots who can`t be arsed to read a book, when they all say "IS THAT IT?!?!". There is no other way they could have finished it, unless you want to sit for 10 hours straight!

Yes it will, and you can play Region Coding Enhancment discs (RCE)

By the way, don`t be baffled by reading the 750 Hack, once u get the one4all control u will understand it.

Yes, but on some players you can enable a DTS decoder! There are many that can do this!

Do u reckon there is a possibility that you could enable DTS sound on this player? Another hack maybe? It does support it, i know that (Setup, Audio). It would be cool if it could be enabled!

Yes there is!
When you typed the code in, after typing 222 555 e.t.c. u press play and it said NO DISC, yes? When you pressed play, if it worked it should say NO DISC the moment u pressed PLAY. If it hung then it diddn`t work.

Ok, when u open the tray, you can type 3 digits in and a 4th to say ok. The speakers pop when you press enter when doing this also. Could this be the way???

Is the Philips Q40 a standard player or a DVD-ROM (PC player).

If it`s a stand alone player, then it should use the Philips 750 Hack.

U need 2 buy a One4All Digital Controller (Get this from Argos, £24.99, you can take it back and get your money back within 13 days...just say it doesn`t configure 2 your DVD!).

Then, follow the instructions for the Philips 750 hack (on this site, under the `Info` section of this site), You`ll understand them when u read the One4All Manual!

Just follow this:

1. Set the One4All controller to use the DVD by using the setup code 0539 (You`ll understand when u get the controller)

Then:

1. When you`ve set up the controller 2 work the DVD player, Press the MAGIC button ONCE (If you hold it it doesn`t work) then press 0 then 8 then 5.
2. The display on the dvd unit will look like this:

3. On the Philips controller that came with the player, type:

222 222 005 255
(The last digit does not appear on the unit! It just shows as a dot!)

4. Then press play. If it worked, it will say NO DISC the moment you press play.

5. Turn the player on standby on the unit and leave it for about 10 secs.

7. Turn it on and watch any region DVD!

PS. This will not be deleted if you disconnect at the mains! It`s there forever and doesn`t affect your warranty!

It can`t be changed back, BUT, the hack DOESN`T invalidate the guarantee! So if u need 2 take it back, take it back. The warranty is only invalidated if you tamper inside the unit!

Did you do the MULTI-REGION code (mute) or region 1 (1)?
If you go to the proline menu and choose the screen settings, you can choose the output to be PAL, NTSC or AUTO. Set it it AUTO. If it already is, then set it to NTSC. You will have to change it back to AUTO when u want 2 watch a Region 2 disc. Hope I helped!

U need 2 buy a One 4 All remote otherwise the 222 etc hack can`t be done. Firmware shouldn`t matter. Mine worked fine and I took the One 4 All back the next day & got my cash back!

You need the ONE4ALL DIGITAL remote (£24 Argos, take it back & get a refund within 13 days) and do this:

Set the one4all remote to use a Philips DVD (you will understand if you have the one4all manual) with the setup code 0539.

Then when you`ve done that, make sure there`s no disc in, and press the MAGIC button ONCE then type 085 on the one4all. The DVD unit will show this :

With the Philips remote that came with the player, type 222 222 005 255.
The last digit will not appear though. It should then, straight away say NO DISC. Put the DVD player on standby (press the button on the unit itself) and leave it for 10 - 15 seconds. Turn it back on and it should be multi regional!
