RE: proline 2000 does it play rce discs.
See my message posted 9th October. I am not familiar with the Proline 2000, but I have a Proline 1000 and managed to fluke a hack for "A Knights Tale" (which definately is "rce") using the "Access" button on the remote (this may be the "Memory" button on other remotes). It may also work for you.
Good luck.

Proline 1000 Region 1 -
I have a Proline 1000 DVD player and found that I could not play "A Knights Tale" due to it being a Region 1 and an "RCE" dvd. When I made enquiries, I was told that I would not be able to play it and my searches for a hack were indeed fruitless, although this web site does refer to "RCE" locking on it`s "known remote hacks" page. Please note that this is not a Region hack, it is an RCE hack.
1 - Place dvd into the player and wait for it to "load".
2 - The world map should then dislay with a message stating that the dvd cannot be played on a modified player (i.e a hacked player)
3 - Press the "Access" button and then the "Play" button whereby the dvd will jump straight into a random part of the "special features" part of the disc.
4 - Press the "next chapter" key (>>) and keep doing so. The disc will skip through various parts of the "special features" and will eventually skip to the beginning of the film.
Unfortunately, I have not found a way to get to the menus but you will at least be able to see the features and more importantly the film itself. I did find that the film jumped very occasionally which caused the sound to become slightly unsynchronised with the picture.
You may find that you will be able to go straight to the beginning of the film using the "Title" and "Chapter" buttons, that`s if you have the patience to try.
It worked for me in that I was able to watch the film, which was my objective, but I cannot guarantee it will work for all. Hope this info is of use for other Proline 1000 DVD player users.
