RE: What`s up with Play247

Well I`m still waiting on my Superman DVD box set. Apparently some items with Play are mailed directly from Canada (most, as we know are shipped from Jersey) and this may explain the delay. But my concern is that the Superman set costs £42.99 and it`s not even sent recorded! Now fine, play are very good at offering to send a second set out (almost suspiciously accommodating, in fact) but surely the second set is every bit as appealing to a would be thief as the first?

Sigh. Not sure what to do - cancel and order from someone who sends recorded?

Hmm. Few more days I guess...

RE: What`s up with Play247

Okay, my original messages are on page 1 of this thread. Basically I managed to get through to Play on their 0845 number - actually it only generally seems to take a maximum of around 10 redials to get into the queuing system. Better than I had thought. Five minutes queuing and you`re generally in.

I spoke to them last Wednesday and my Superman Collection Set was `posted` that night... I think that meant it actually was picked up on Thursday (11th) and I thought it would take a couple of (working) days to get here, which would mean arrival today. However as Raymond pointed out, it seems to take extra time to get to the UK mainland from Jersey, and if it is indeed 3 days then hopefully it should be here tomorrow.

Just for the record, www.futureent.com shipped my Bridget Jones Diary order for my girlfriend last week and it arrived today. Order processed on 9th, out of stock initially, and final delivery on 15th, so six days.

I agree, both companies must be swamped with R1 orders, and so I think I`d need top place another couple of orders to give them the benefit of the doubt. Incidentally, dvdconcept.com shipped my Lord of the Rings cartoon and, including out of stock time, the time from order to delivery ended up being around 10 days. Swings and roundabouts it seems...

Hi Al,

Just a quick question... How did you manage to get through to them? On the 01534 number or was the 0845 number free again? Or do you have a secret number... ? :-)

I`m desperate to get through to them - my Complete Superman Collection DVD boxed set has been on since last week now, despite my card being charged. I can handle a slight delay, but it bothers me when money has been taken and I can;t get any information.

Winge winge moan moan, I know. Sorry.

I cancelled my BJD order and am seeing how I get on with www.futureent.com for that one - same price and they seem to think it will be here for the weekend. Maybe try that option for the dinner party, Superflyguy?

Any advice on how to contact Play247 is much appreciated, by the way.
Thanks!

RE: What`s up with Play247

Hi there,

Is anyone else still having the worst time in the world trying to contact Play247? I`ve heard good things about them generally (is this wrong?) but I can`t get through to their customer service for love nor money - the 0845 number seems like its off the hook, and the 01534 number is never picked up. And today I can`t seem to access the site even, although that may be me.

Is anybody having any luck with them at the moment?

Many thanks - its great to find a site where you can ask these kind of questions!
