Techtronics offer a region-free upgrade for the DV170 for 84 pounds. Look under `Older players` on their site (www.techtronics.com). You have to send your player to them, but it`s probably worth it if you really are desparate.

Aiwa XD-DV178 and RCE

I just noticed this player on YesAsia.com the other day. Apparently it`s the successor to the XD-DV170. I`m really interested in getting one, but YesAsia says that it can`t play RCE discs. Does anyone know if there`s a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
