Lets see how many people took up the Kodak offer from the advise of Clayts I was one of them. I only bought one I am not gready! I was quoted 4000 by a Kodak employee.

I agree Clayts It would be nice gesture to make, as Dan Bates helped us all who wrote letters to Kodak and by the way Mike Amazon sell it for £249 +pp.

Pc World are doing the kodak dx3700 for £243.19 inc delivery so a lot cheaper than other retailers but no extra memory card Jessops do same model for £299. I don`t know if it has the docking station.

I would recommend the Toshiba 210 from Techtronics who will make it multi region disable the macrovison for about £225. Other models are available but I feel the tosh beats all hands down.

Its a excellent machine for the money it will do everything you want it to do it will play all regions RCE VCDs SVCDs mp3 CDRs CDRWs only thing it lacks is macrovison removal but you can buy the special leads to disable that if you want to but a good buy if you are on a budget and it does have RGB

You can not alter the colour or contrast if you are feeding a RGB signal it is a fixed signal some tv`s you can i think panasonic models you can you can alter the contrast on your sky box via the services menu and go to picture settings.

What you need to do is use the vcd utilty then drag and drop your jpegs this will create a VCD or SVCD and you will be able to play your disk in any dvd which can play vcds burnt on a cdr

Unfortunately a lot of TV`s are getting these purity problems it is alot to do with cheap manufacturing and these flat screens in my 15 years in the tv trade in the last 4 years I have seen more tube faults than in my past 11 not just one manufacturer all Sony,Phillips,etc etc they are all genrally crap very poor picture. Out of all the major makes I would rate Toshiba they always manage to get a good picture.

hook your vcr to the sky box vcr scart socket then take the tv scart from sky to av2 of tv, and your dvd to av1, you can record sky via your av input on you vcr note make sure you use full scart leads.

It sounds like a purity fault try turning the contrast down a bit in the sky digi box and tv it that doesn`t cure it try playing the game less!!!

How old is the tv? and did it just happen? and have you had speakers near it? if i am right you have a thomson made set and you have a degauss problem which needs engineer to look at it, what i would do which might do a tempory repair disconnest from mains overnight and in morning try and see if that cures it. If it does not you need engineer to look at it and replace the degauss termistor or you may have a dry joint.

The problem does sound like a macrovison problem or a tv standards problem when you record from the decoder and you preview the siganal via the video recorder do the symptons show? Most pay per view broadcasts encode the macrovison signal.

yes the cheaper ones don`t have scart inputs they only have composite inputs or vga inputs but you can buy a tv tuner box which will give you scart input, teletext etc etc other thing is noise most plasmas have fans to keep them cool so like a pc you will have a fan noise all the time. I would wait for a couple of years when prices will drop and realiabilty will improve.

RE: RGB Scart connection - Picture Quality (novice)

The best in you situation i say is connect the dvd via the Sky box on the VCR input this way you will get RGB without getting a scart splitter box but you will not be able to record via scart from the sky box unless you pig back video out and sound out from the sky box this is what i have done. Then wire your video to scart 2. Other alternative is you can use a s-video lead if you are not to fussy about pic quality.

Switch machine on without disc
Press setup
Then press buttons in following order on remote
NEXT - STOP - PAUSE - PREV - NEXT
This will take you to the loopholes menu
From here you can pick the which region you want or pick bypass to make region free but not RCE free. You have to select region 1 if you want to play RCE encoded discs. Sorry no macrovison disable available via this menu.
