RE: SV-DVD1E ho do i copy-copyrighted dvds?

Hi,

I`m afraid it`s impossible to copy Region 1 (US) DVDs to tape in Europe. Reason: The TV system ist different (US: NTSC, 525 lines, 60 Hz, Europe: PAL 625 lines, 50 Hz). It is only possible to copy to tape if

- the player converts the signal to REAL PAL (very rare) or if

- the VCR is able to record NTSC (then the DVD player has to be switched to NTSC output instead of "Pseudo-PAL").

Most players produce a "Pseudo PAL" (PAL, 525 lines, 60 Hz), which can be viewed on most TVs.

It`s a littlebit difficult

According to copy protection: If there`s no hack for your player disabling Macrovision, you either need to install a devive in your player or you`ve got use an external device which "filters" the copy protection signal between DVD player and VCR.
