Any truth in this?

I have recently emailed a company who modify DVD players to read region one discs.

I enquired if my player (Aiwa XD-DV290) was remote-hackable, if not could it be modified by a chip.

The response was that it wasn`t remote-hackable, and that I would have to buy another machine (from them) that was either remote hackable or already modified.

Anyone know if this is the case, or are they just trying to get a sale out of me? (Not very trusting of me I know) Any help would be much appreciated. It seems that nobody else in the UK owns the same player as me - :-(

thanks

RE: Black and White problems

Azrael -

I`m not too technically minded, but I have a feeling that it may be your TV that has the problem.

I used to have a playstation that had been chipped to play Japanese/US games. If the TV wasn`t NTSC compatible, then the disc would still work but the picture would be in black and white - you could be having the same problems.

RE: Please Help with Aiwa

I`m starting to think I`m the only person who actually owns this player!

Good to know I`m not alone!

I can`t find a hack for love nor money! Tried looking all over on the net + magazines but no luck so far - keep me informed as I`m convinced it can be done somehow!

Please Help with Aiwa

Has anybody got a hack for an Aiwa XD-DV290 player

Any help would be really appreciated
