This DVD contains the entire first series of the much-loved comedy series, offering a peak behind-the-scenes at village life in Stackton Tressel, home to Doctor Evadne Hinge and Dame Hilda Bracket. Originally broadcast on BBC in 1983 the series has a massive cult following and is available for the first time on DVD. Hinge and Bracket were hugely popular with their television and radio appearances spanning three decades.

I have spent years trying to get the BBC to release Hinge & Bracket`s "Dear Ladies" Series on DVD, and March 2007 i was pleased to hear from them and the news they were going to release it.
The Dear Ladies have a huge following and Series 1 is just the first of 3 series that the BBC will release.
You need to understand dry humour, and double entendres to get this terrific act.
