Synopsis:
In this edge-of-your seat supernatural thriller featuring Hollywood`s hottest stars, a study in fear escalates into a heart-stopping nightmare for a professor and three subjects trapped in a mysterious mansion.
For over a century, the dark and forbidding Hill House has sat alone and abandoned... or so it seemed. Intrigued by the mansion`s storied past, Dr. Marrow (Liam Neeson) lures his three subjects - Theo (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Nell (Lili Taylor) and Luke (Owen Wilson) - to the site for a seemingly harmless experiment. But, from the moment of their arrival, Nell seems mysteriously drawn to the house... and the attraction is frighteningly mutual. When night descends, the study goes horrifyingly awry as the subjects discover the haunting secrets that live within the walls of Hill House.
Don`t miss the state-of-the-art special effects as Hill House unleashes its supernatural wrath in this latest thriller from the director of Speed and Twister.

Your Opinions and Comments
Unfortunately, most horror movies nowadays are nothing but slashers.
This movie is nothing of that sort. While it is not THAT scary, it is really good in a way that it gives you the chills.
It made me feel as if I was watching a version of the computer game "Phantasmagoria" (by Sierra On-Line, 1995). Since I really loved that game, I liked the movie a lot, too. Well, at least its first hour and a half.
The video transfer is great. The visuals are stunning. The manor is very frightening and consists of a mixture of real shots and CG.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is creepy. You will hear the manor make sounds that will send chills down your spine. The surrounds will make you shiver with fear.
The menus are done very nice. The are all animated and creepy as well.
The extras include 2 cool trailers (both in DD 5.1, which is VERY nice), some filmographies and a great behind the scenes featurette.
Bottom line - go for it, but turn off the lights first.
