An awesome movie. Everything about this movie shines. The music. The visuals. The sound effects. The story.
The famous story is told in a beautiful manner both for kids and grown ups (like myself).
The video transfer (1.85:1) is excellent. The colors are amazing and the picture is always sharp. As can be expected, there are no compression signs at all.
The DD 5.0 (yeah, there`s no LFE) is excellent. The jungle comes alive very realistically and the dialog is always balanced. The movie comes in 6 different languages:
English, Polish, Hungarian, Greek, Croatian and Hebrew. Some of the versions are presented in DD stereo and some in DD surround, but thankfully, the English and Hebrew versions are DD 5.0.
The musical score is also very good.
The menus are still and dull.
The extras include nothing. Really.
Bottom line - a spectacular presentation of a great story. Don`t miss it.

"Tarzan" revisited - February 2005

Almost four and a half years after watching the movie for the very first time, I got a chance to watch it again.
I`m still at awe. While the story is well known (and sort of predictable, I must say) the visuals are nothing short of stunning! The rapid movement of the camera during the jungle scenes in nothing short of amazing.
Too bad this version of the movie comes on a bare disc. The special edition is, therefore, the obvious choice.
