Your Opinions and Comments

8 / 10
A very good and provocative movie (and a nice surprise as well) that deals with the touchiest issues of the Catholic church - corruption and lust.
Bernal gives (yet another) stunning performance as a young priest, coming to assist an older priest in a small Mexican town.
The video transfer is very good. There are no compression signs and the colors are nicely saturated.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good, too. There`s hardly a usage of the surrounds, but for this kind of a movie, that`s totally acceptable.
The menus are nicely animated with sound.
The extras include a commentary by the director and lead actor, a behind the scenes featurette and a picture gallery.
Bottom line - it`s no wonder this movie got a nomination for both the Golden Globe and Oscar for best foreign language film. It`s complex, yet deals with the most basic human needs. Recommended.
