Your Opinions and Comments
A colleague at work recommended it to me, so I bought the first 3 seasons of the series.
WOW!
This is as close as most of us will ever get to the inside of the MI5 (with an occasional glimpse into the MI6).
OK, so the characters are actually supermen and superwomen who can do almost anything at any given time, but putting this little thing aside, the production`s quality of the series is superb. The stories are mind blowing and the characters are well developed.
The video transfer is very good. The are no compression signs at all and the editing is excellent.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is very good, too. The surrounds are used on several occasions, and add some depth to the sound envelope.
The disc set does not contain any subtitles (something that was corrected in series two and three), and for non British - understanding the variety of accents can become overwhelming at times.
The menus are nicely animated with sound. The animated menus do become annoying after a couple of times, but hey - they`re just menus.
The extras include commentaries for each episode, a behind the scenes featurette (divided into numerous sections), deleted scenes, a picture gallery and some DVD-ROM features.
Bottom line - a very good disc set for an excellent series. Watch out for the cliffhanger - it`ll blow your mind (yes, pun intended!). Highly recommended.
