I remember watching Hill Street Blues for the first time back in 1987.I was instantly grabbed by the brilliant storylines and the excellent acting by the emsemble cast. For the first time ever we saw police officers as real people with everyday problems and a life outside the precinct house.Crimes were not solved in 50 minutes but carried over into the following episodes. The outstanding characters in the programme were Mick Belker,Played by Bruce Weitz. And Norman buntz played by Denis Franz. If you are a fan of Hill Street Blues or have never seen it i can tell you all the freshness and originality are still there in this long overdue DVD release.
