I bought this disc set on the day it was released, almost two and a half years ago, but watched it only now.
As can be expected, I wasn`t disappointed. At all. :)
The story of Simba is as exciting as it was when I watched it in the theater.
The video transfer is very good. The colors are beautifully saturated, no compression signs can be seen, and the animation - flawless.
The DTS and DD 5.1 soundtracks are both very good. The enhanced Disney soundtrack for home cinema really works, and mostly emphasizes the surrounds. The surrounds are nicely used throughout the movie.
The menus are beautifully animated with sound.
The extras include 5 deleted scenes, a commentary, a detailed behind the scenes featurette, 3 interactive games, 4 music videos, several storyboards, a picture gallery and several multilingual clips (although the multilingual version of the stunning opening scene is sadly missing).
Bottom line - with an awesome movie for both kids and adults, great visuals and sound and an excellent disc to match, you simply cannot go wrong with this disc set. A must own.
