Synopsis:
Starring a host of familiar British acting talent including Jason Merrells, Denise Welch, Mairead Carty, and a distinguished supporting cast, The Jealous God is a morality tale set in Yorkshire in the mid-1960s. It tells the story of a quiet schoolteacher Vincent Dungarvan (Merrells) who faces a battle against his strict upbringing and a staunchly religious mother when he falls in love with an attractive young librarian. The conflict between sex and religion is beautifully captured as we see Vincent struggle against his desire, his conscience and his instinct to do what is expected of him.
