Yossi & Jagger are two officers in a remote Israeli outpost.
They both have soldiers under their command.
And they also have eachother. That`s right, they`re lovers.
This short (barely over an hour) gem of a movie deals with two seemingly opposite topics in Israeli society - the Israeli army and homosexuality. The movie`s greatness is by seamlessly combining these two topics.
The two leads (Knoler and Levi) do a great job and the supporting cast is also very good.
The video transfer is very good. This is a made-for-TV movie that was later shown in theaters in Israel and worldwide, thus the full screen transfer (but relax, that`s the original aspect ration). Most of the movie takes place in the snow, still all the scenes are clear of any glare.
The DD 2.0 Hebrew soundtrack is good. The musical soundtrack has a big role in the movie (although some innuendoes will only be picked up by Israeli viewers). English subtitles are also provided.
The menus are animated with sound.
The extras include a behind the scenes featurette, 2 music video of the theme song (one in Hebrew and the other in English) and the director`s debut movie (a 45-minute feature).
Bottom line - this is truly a wonderful movie with some very powerful moments. Don`t miss it.
