"Lost" is by far the BEST series I`ve ever seen.
I didn`t catch it on TV but I heard great things about it, so I bought this magnificent 7 disc-set.
I watched the pilot episode and was immediately hooked. Within 3 days, I`ve watched the entire series.
"Lost" tells the (many, many) stories of a group of unfortunate individuals whose plane crashed on a desolated island.
Most of the stories are woven with flashbacks which give a lot of information about the different characters.
The video transfer is excellent. There are no compression signs to be seen and the island`s colors are beautifully saturated. I`ve never seen such impressive visuals on a TV show. The widescreen transfer does the island (and the characters) justice.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is excellent. The surrounds are constantly used and provide a rich sound envelope.
The menus are beautifully animated with sound.
The extras include a couple of commentaries by the crew, an extensive behind the scenes featurette (including interviews and explanations about the various special effects), the casts` audition tapes, a picture gallery, 15 deleted scenes (including 2 additional flashbacks) and a bloopers reel.
Bottom line - this is a remarkable series that will leave you gasping for air (and for another episode). Buy it today, and get lost.
