Synopsis:
As a 10 year-old boy, Karol has many childhood dreams, but in a period of just 8 years his life changes irrevocably as his beloved mother and brother die, Poland is invaded by Nazi Germany and the repellant Jewish persecution begins. As the war continues, Karol is driven to set up an underground theatre to resist the invaders and protect the Polish culture he cherishes. It is during his involvement in this cultural resistance movement that Karol receives his calling from God and joins the priesthood, beginning a rewarding, yet testing journey that will ultimately take him to the Vatican.

Watch as Karol rises through the Catholic church, risking his life and defying communism, Nazism, atheism and materialism with stingingly courageous sermons that inspired a whole nation to overthrow more than four decades of Nazi and Communist rule and recapture their freedom.
