Carlos "The Jackal" is the most heinous terrorist the world has ever known. He has been sought by the governments of the United States and Israel for two decades, escaping each time they come close to capturing him.
When CIA master spy Jack Shaw (Donald Sutherland) and his Israeli counterpart, Amos (Ben Kingsley), discover that American naval officer Annibal Ramirez (Aiden Quinn) is a dead ringer for the terrorist, they devise a chilling plan to draw Carlos out of hiding, and into an elaborate trap.
But first, Annibal must `become` Carlos by ridding himself of love for humankind and learn to murder without hesitation.
In the ultimate call-to-arms for his country, he must become the perfect killing machine to put an end to the ruthless reign of "The Jackal"... but will his soul be the price?

Your Opinions and Comments
Sutherland, Quinn and Kingsley portray 3 guys who are after Carlos (super-nasty terrorist) for different (yet similar) reasons. The plot is really intriguing and very much believable.
The visuals of this movie are very nice. The special effects are very adequate - not too "bombastic" yet very real.
The video transfer is very good. There are no signs of compressions and the visuals are rendered very well. Pay special attention to the scene in the snow-filled graveyard. The amount of visual details there is amazing.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is ok. The surrounds get only a little bit of action, but the few times they are active, they are used wisely.
Unfortunately, other than an ordinary filmographies section, the disk contains no extras.
Bottom line - a very good movie which will leave you wondering. Here`s a free tip - watch the last scene at least twice and think about it.
