Synopsis:
A shower of meteorites causes virtually all the population of Earth to go blind. Bill Masen is in hospital, having had an operation on his eyes and discovers he is one of the few that can still see. There is worse to come for some of the plants that have been farmed by man are able to move. The Triffids, which tower above human height and have a vicious paralysing sting, start to attack people, eventually taking over as the dominant species. Bill and his companion Jo struggle to survive in this post-Apocalyptic world.
