I did not get a chance to watch this movie in the theater, so this DVD version of it was my very first time with this movie.
Well, a rather ordinary super-mom adventure story, beautifully shot, but, alas, takes way too long to reach any point.
Kevin Bacon is great as the villain, but the rest of the leads are not as half as good.
The video transfer is excellent. The outdoor scenes are absolutely incredible. There are no signs of compression at all. Even a good transfer can get a bit blurish during complicated water scenes but this transfer glides through these scene gracefully.
The DD 5.1 audio is also quite nice. The sound of the white water gives you a true feeling you`re IN that river, rafting through the water. Very nice.
Unfortunately, other than an ordinary cast&crew section, there are no bonuses on the disk.
All in all, a spectacular movie. Only visually, that is.
