Synopsis:
From the Producers of "Jurassic Park" and the Director of "Speed."
The house rips apart piece by piece. A bellowing cow spins through the air. Tractors fall like rain. A 15,000-pound gasoline tanker becomes an airborne bomb. A mile-wide, 300 miles-per-hour force of total devastation is coming at you: Twister is hitting home.
In this adventure swirling with cliffhanging excitement and awesome special effects, Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton play scientists pursuing the most destructive weatherfront to sweep through mid-America`s Tornado Alley in 50 years.
By launching electronic sensors into the funnel, the storm chasers hope to obtain enough data to create an improved warning system.
But to do so, they must intercept the twisters` deadly path. The chase is on!
"A gale-force movie!

Your Opinions and Comments
From the time I first saw it in the theater, I`ve seen it at least a dozen other times on TV, VCR and now - DVD.
The story is nice and simple - adventure embedded with love. As simple as that. :)
The video transfer is perfect. The dark shades of the twister are all crystal clear and there are no compression marks at all. The twister themselves look VERY real. The CG here is superb.
The DD 5.1 audio is excellent. It WILL put you in the middle of a giant twister and rock your living room like a real twister. It`s too bad there`s no technology (yet) to put some real wind on a DVD. Then the experience would be complete. :)
Unfortunately, the disc contained no extra features, which is a real shame. A look behind the scenes of the CG is SO needed here.
Will I watch the movie again? You bet! Why? Well, I guess it`s a good one.
The film may lack much in the way of plot, but there are plot points that certainly could be thrown out of the film completely. Paxton`s character is about to be married when the film opens to a rather annoying character played by Jamie Gertz. The character is total excess in a film like this. We want to see more in the way of twisters, not totally unnecessary romatic subplots that don`t work. Performances by Paxton and especially Hunt are quite enjoyable in a movie that certainly may not provide much in the way of plot, but certainly succeeds in thrills.
Nothing spectacular in the world of intelligent films. However, it was and still is a fun movie. Add the DTS audio track and it becomes a rollercoaster. It certainly does the job providing some serious thrills and fun.
