Synopsis:
Gudrun and Ursula Brangwen (Glenda Jackson and Jennie Linden) are two naive beauties living in a northern colliery town in 1920s England. Desperate for experience of love and life, they pursue relationships with local men Gerald Crich (Oliver Reed) and Rupert Birkin (Alan Bates). Jackson won an Oscar for her performance in this once daring film that also includes a memorable nude wrestling scene between Reed and Bates.
