Synopsis:
Robert Wise`s powerful I Want To Live is based on a true story of Barbara Gramham (an Oscar-winning Susan Hayward), executed for a crime she allegedly did not commit. So gruelling were the gas chambers scenes considered originally, they were cut entirely from the British cinema release, despite an `X` certificate. The screenplay by Nelsom Gidding and Don Mankiewiez was based on actual newspaper reports and letters frm Barbara Graham, adding a chilling sense of realism to this superb film.
