Synopsis:
One of the most original, inventive and acclaimed movies of last year, the film was nominated for four Academy Awards(tm), four BAFTAs(tm) and six Golden Globes(tm), and picked up several awards along the way. Spike Jonze`s dark, surreal comedy is widely acknowledged as a modern classic - taking film making to a new level with its razor-sharp script and dazzling screenplay.

The plot sees established Hollywood scriptwriter Charlie Kaufman, played by Nicolas Cage adapting New York journalist Susan Orlean`s bestselling non-fiction book `The Orchid Thief` for a forthcoming movie. But despite his impressive credentials, Kaufman finds writing the adaptation a tremendously difficult task, and after weeks spent agonising on how to approach the project, writes a story of the writing process itself - casting himself as the main role.

What follows is a journey of dark comedy with an uplifting tinge, taking the viewer deep inside the mind of Charlie Kaufman with surreal yet fascinating consequences. Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper (American Beauty, Lone Star) support Cage, and with direction by Jonze, of Being John Malkovich fame, Adaptation offers a star-studded cast coupled with cutting edge production, making this DVD a must-have for all serious film fans.
