Synopsis:
Another kung fu classic from Joseph Kuo, director of Unbeaten 28 and Return Of The 18 Bronzemen, The Smart Cavalier has a grandfather and his pretty granddaughter travelling from town to town offering the granddaughter`s hand in marriage to any man who can better her in a fight. Unusually skilled in the martial arts, she easily beats all comers until an unwitting Ming revolutionary finally claims victory, earning himself a new, and unwanted, responsibility.

Fearing marriage would get in the way of his political activities he and his friend flee to continue their fight to restore the Ming Dynasty to power. Despite their constant and often ingenious efforts to elude them, the pair find themselves constantly pursued by the grandfather and the bride-to-be, who are determined to finalise the marriage arrangements. Full of impressively choreographed fight sequences interspersed with light comedy, The Smart Cavalier moves at breakneck speed to a dazzling, bone-crunching finale.
