Synopsis:
Fore! Make way for the pro golf circuit`s worst nightmare - Happy Gilmore! Adam Sandler stars in a hilarious comedy that scores a hole-in-one for gut-busting wit and outrageous slapstick. Although Happy dreams of becoming a professional hockey player, he discovers that his hockey slap shot translates to an astonishing 400 yard tee shot. So when his grandmother loses her home to the IRS, Happy decides to earn the house back by joining the pro golf tour, bringing his ferocious temper and outlandish antics to the well-tended fairways.

Before long, Happy is a media sensation, attracting crowds and news cameras wherever he goes. But Happy`s bitter rival has his own plans for the golf superstar, resulting in a riotous, laugh-filled confrontation on the greens. With a terrific cast including Carl Weathers, Julie Bowen, Bob Barker, Richard Kiel and Kevin Nealon, nonstop laughs are par for the course.

A fantastically funny effort from Adam Sandler. I found this the funniest of his movies to date. It's funny, it's silly, it's more than a little ridiculous… but hey, it's to be enjoyed.

Unfortunately this is a barebones disc which is a crying shame. While I can't see this film being re-released as a special edition with a host of lovely special features on it, I would love to be proved wrong. Sorry, I tell a lie - there's a trailer. Well… it is nice to have a trailer, and I don't want to appear ungrateful… but - damn it! I want more!!!

However, while we don't get the uncut version of the film that our American buddies enjoy, we are allowed an anamorphic transfer while R1 is full frame… tee hee hee.

As this can be picked up fairly cheaply at the moment, it is bit of a "must have" for any Sandler fan.
