This review is for the region 2 disc-set, which is identical to the region 1 set.
This 4 hour mini series is all about evil. But is it scary? Well, not really. Is it horrifying then? No. Is it gory? Nope, sorry. Then what is it? Well, that`s a good question. While the first 2 and a half hours are quite reasonable and the plot progresses with some sense, the final hour and a half are plain dumb. As simple as that.
The video transfer is average. Being a TV mini series, it was shot as fullscreen. The color saturation is very good (especially in the final scene), but grain can be spotted throughout the 4 hours.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is rather flat. The surrounds are used occasionally but they do not provide an enveloping sound.
The menus are still and silent.
The extras include a behind the scenes look, a sort of documentary and a picture gallery.
Bottom line - despite being a Stephen King`s (aka - pizza guy) story, the mini series fails to make sense and provide the viewer with no thrills at all.
