An ordinary (yet enjoyable) sci-fi flick with lots of visuals and sound that slightly compensate for the pretty simple plot.
The video transfer is very good. There are no compression signs to be seen, but the picture is not 100% clean of dust particles. Still, the visuals are mostly stunning and the CG is very impressive.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is very good, too. The surrounds are used effectively throughout the movie.
The menus are partially animated with sound.
The extras include 13 deleted scenes (including an alternate opening and ending scenes). It`s quite obvious why most of the deleted scenes didn`t make it to the final movie.
Bottom line - a totally enjoyable (aka - no brainer) movie with stunning visuals and sound. Too bad the disc doesn`t offer more extras.
