Your Opinions and Comments
I found it to be rather childish (nowadays, animated features ought to, and usually do, please adults as well) and quite predictable. But most importantly, it failed to create any empathy for the characters. Maybe it`s me, but the "humanization" process of the toys was not convincing enough.
The video transfer is good. There are no compression signs and the colors are nicely saturated. The toys look plastic. A little bit too plastic, if you ask me.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is ok. The surrounds are used occasionally, but the entire sound envelope is rather flat and could`ve been a lot better.
Despite what`s said on the disc`s cover, it includes 2 additional soundtracks - a DD 5.1 in French and a DD 2.0 in Arabic.
The menus are still and silent.
The extras include a nice behind the scenes look (with storyboards, special effects notes and more) and a dreadful animated shorty from 1989 (with an awful looking baby in it).
Bottom line - a rent will do for this one. It`s funny, occasionally, but I do hope the sequel is better.
