A shattering film, It was remade by William Friedkin as Sorcerer in 1977, the film he made after the Exorcist. Sorcerer is actually a good film and probablt one of Friedkin`s best films, but it isn`t as good as the original. It maybe one of the most intense films people will find, shot in Black & white...

The criteion disc is faultless as usual...
