Here`s your chance to get one up on your friends with the episodes on VHS, with the DVD release.

The first CD is essentially the pilot episode, presented for the first time in widescreen (1.85.1 ratio) and in it`s full uncut form (certificate 18, the VHS version is a PG). There is a lot more nudity and violence but I`m not sure as to how much run time the additional footage actually comes to.

The second CD is again presented in widescreen (1.85.1 ratio). The three episodes are basically the last three of the first season and they all feed nicely one into the other. The middle of the three is very weak, being a cost cutting exercise. The story is made up of many flashback sequences and thus production costs would have been brought well down. This however, serves to make the final episode all the more spectacular with the big special effects end of season blow out.

If your looking for extras, you only get the extra footage on the pilot episode, and the choice to change the language of the DVD to German. However, bare in mind that you are getting the episodes in there original form, and this enhances the audio and video quality of the DVD.

If you`ve never seen the show this serves as a great introduction to the series and if you are a collector of the series your in for a treat. So either way how can you loose?
