Synopsis:
Bill Murray is at his wisecracking best in this riotous romantic comedy about a weatherman caught in a personal time warp on the worst day of his life!

Teamed with a relentlessly cheery producer (Annie MacDowell) and a smart aleck cameraman, TV weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is sent to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to cover the annual Groundhog Day festivities. On his way out of town, Phil is caught in a giant blizzard - which he himself actually failed to predict - and finds himself stuck in a small town hell.

Just when things couldn`t get worse... they do! Phil wakes the next morning to find that it`s Groundhog Day all over again... and again... and again. During the recurring 24 hour nightmare, Phil starts to realise that he can also use it to his advantage - to re-write the events of his day, and to generally have a whale of a time.

But manipulating his day to capture the one woman he really wants is not quite so easy! A truly comic time warp that everyone will enjoy being stuck in!!

One of the funniest Bill Murray movies!
The story is simple, Murray is a weatherman Phil Connors or
meteorolog or something kind of reporter who goes every
year to Punxsutawney to make story about Groundhog Day.
One day he wakes up in his room and it seems it`s a
Groundhog Day once again.First Phil thinks it`s a Deja Vu,
but when the same day replay`s everyday he goes crazy,
well who woudn`t.The plot has got some romance, comedy and the usual Harold Ramis kinda nice feeling. The trasfer is ok, with sharp video and clear audio. There is some extras, like bios, filmographies, trailer.Nothing special on this disc, just a great comedy to all Bill Murray & comedy fans.

Groundhog Day is probably one of the greatest comedy films in existence, why?, because it`s not JUST funny it`s a damn fine movie plotwise aswell. Normally you watch a movie and laugh a few times, but when you watch it again the novelty is no longer there and it doesn`t seem quite so endearing. This is different because the story is SO captivating.

The idea of waking everyday in the same place and time is very exciting and has you thinking how you would utilise the situation yourself. Phil Connors chooses to win the affections of Rita (his producer) who dislikes him to begin with. He has varying degrees of success and even when he uses the most underhand of tactics, you can`t help rooting for him.

The picture quality is fantastic, a great 16:9 anamorphic treat. The audio is only pro-logic but frankly that is not a great concern with a title like this. The lack of extras (just a trailer) is a shame, but when you get a classic film for your money, you`d be greedy to complain.

Basically, it`s a feel-good movie, but not in a cheesy way.
I find it genuinely enjoyable and not shallow like so many of the recent "shock for laugh" efforts (although I like those too, first time round).
