Your Opinions and Comments
A nice low budget horror that for the first half is tense in the style of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but then develops into a not as good but mildly diverting monster movie, with a highly commendable lack of CGI. So it`s not the scariest film in the world, but the Exorcist isn`t anymore, so what is scary now? It`s enjoyable, and has one of the best last shots I`ve seen in a while. It also rises above the teen horror genre of late for daring to be different.
VIDEO
It`s low budget, so it`s going to be grainy to an extent, and a lot is shot in the dark, so it`s certainly not of reference, but its reasonable enough 1.85.1 transfer
AUDIO
Quite atmospheric, and the crows are still scary. The track of the title is also excellent. The speech can be heard clearly and this is a thumbs up.
EXTRAS
I think this disc is pretty damn good on the extras front. It has a quite insightful commentary with Victor de Salva, the director, and then there is a good hour long making of which is split up and goes into all areas. The highlight is the footage of how they shot the car scenes. Thene there are some decent deleted scenes and the usual trailers. A disc that didn`t go over the top, but is just nice and compact.
