Synopsis:
During an experimental space mission in his spacecraft The Farscape, astronaut John Crichton is sucked into a wormhole and swept across time and space into a parallel universe.
Catapulted into a new cosmos and into the midst of a raging space battle, his out-of-control spacecraft accidentally detroys an alien Peacekeeper attacker. Captured by an escaping prisoner ship, Crichton joins the prisoners, a disparate group of aliens, as they flee the Peacekeepers - a race of deadly mercenaries. The prisoners flight heralds the start of this fantastic odyssey though space. Together they encounter new civilisations, life forms and cultures, and learn to rely on one another in their struggle for survival.
Farscape is BBC2`s brand new smash hit sci-fi drama, written and created by Rockne O`Bannon (Alien Nation, Seaquest DSV, and The Twilight Zone). The Academy Award winning Jim Henson`s Creature Shop in London created many of the stunning animatronic and computer-generated effects and characters for the series.
Episode 1.01: Premiere
Emerging from a wormhole in the middle of a pitched space battle, the Farscape is taken on board Moya, a huge bio-mechanoid `living ship`. Crichton meets his new shipmates, all desperately trying to escape the clutches of the Peacekeepers - Ku D`Argo, the fierce Luxan warrior; Rygel XVI, Sluglike Dominar of the serene Delvian priestess. Sharing his cell is fellow prisoner Aeryn Sun, a captured Peacekeeper officer.....
Episode 1.02: Throne For A Loss
Rygel `borrows` a priceless crystal in order to impress the Tavleks, battle scarred renegades whose real business is holding hostages for ransom - as Rygel soon discovers. The Tavleks` gauntlet type weapons incorporate aggression -heightening, addictive drugs. In order to win back both Rygel and the crystal, Crichton decides that his only choice is to don the gauntlet for a showdown with the Tavleks....
Episode 1.03: Back and Back and Back to the Future
Moya rescues two Ilanic scientists for their disintegrating spacecraft, but their transport pod exposes Crichton to a mysterious force which jolts him back and forth in time. One of the pair, the sensuous Matala, sets out to seduce and divert D`Argo. But Crichton realises that his moments in the future have allowed him to glimpse what Matala is really like, and he tries to change his actions in the present to avert a potential disaster....
Episode 1.04: I, ET
At least temporarily on the same side, Moya`s crew are forced to land on a swampy, earthlike planet to muffle a tracking signal given out by the spacecraft. To remove it will inflict great pain to the bio-mechanoid, so the crew search for a painkiller for Moya. But matters are complicated by the arrival of the pursuing Peacekeepers, and the frightened local population, who have never seen a spaceship before. Crichton begins to come to terms with the fact that he is now the alien...
