Synopsis:
A reluctant young hero holds the key to the future of mankind in the palm of his hand in this eye-popping, sci-fi adventure.
It`s the year 3028 and the Drej, a vicious alien race, have destroyed Earth. Fifteen years later a young man named Cale learns he possesses a genetically encoded map to the Titan, a spaceship that holds the secret to the salvation of the human race. With the Drej in hot pursuit, Cale blasts off with the new crew of the Valkyrie in an attempt to find the Titan before the Drej destroy it, along with mankind`s last chance for a home of their own.

The 2 disks are identical.
I can see why this movie didn`t do well at all in theaters. It`s way too violent and fast paced for kids, but it`s also a little bit boring for teenagers and adults.
The video transfer is excellent. There are no compression signs at all. However, the combination of hand drawn and CG doesn`t always work. Sure, several scenes look absolutely amazing (leaving planet Earth and the ice field, for example), but other scenes which include hand drawn characters and 3D backgrounds seem a bit flat and unnatural. Furthermore, the graphic detail for each character is ok, but not great, which is ok if this movie was a Manga, but I don`t think it was intended to be seen as a Manga.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is truly excellent. The surrounds are constantly used and the sound envelope is superb. The sub gets its share of action as well. The 2nd scene in the movie is of reference quality.
The menus are animated with sound.
The extras include a commentary by the directors, a nice behind the scenes look, 4 deleted scenes, a photo gallery and a music video.
Bottom line - despite the awkward visuals at times and the rather ordinary plot, this is an enjoyable show-off movie.
