I never liked the good ol` Westerns. The idea of a bunch of guys shooting eachother for some cattle heads, women or money (in no particular order) never seemed too exciting.
This is probably why I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. Sure, it`s not original, it`s very predictable and quite corny at times. But still - it`s a harmless one and a half hour ride (pun intended).
The video transfer is very good. There are no compression signs to be seen and the colors are very well saturated. Shot in Canada and Mexico, the landscapes are simply breathtaking.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. The surrounds are constantly used - you`d have horse galloping all around you and shots being shots in all directions.
The musical score is nice (and corny) as well.
The menus are animated with sound.
The extras include a behind the scenes look, a picture gallery and some storyboards.
Bottom line - an ok Western (enjoyable, that is) with some stunning visuals and an average disk.
