OK, so I haven`t seen "Abre Los Ojos" which this movie is based upon. Perhaps this is why the first 80 minutes of the movie made me want to close my eyes and fall asleep. The story`s pace is slow, somehow incoherent and not particularly interesting.
However, the last 55 minutes made up for this. The story started making more sense and a lot of loose ends were tied.
The video transfer is good. There are no compression signs and the visuals and editing are quite impressive. Some grain can be detected in several scenes, but nothing too distracting.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is satisfying. The surrounds are used occasionally to enhance the uncertainty of the scene.
The menus are beautifully animated with music.
The extras include a commentary, a behind the scenes look, a music video, a photo gallery and some outtakes.
Bottom line - definitely NOT for everyone, but if you can stay awake during the first 80 minutes, you`d be compensated generously.

i have to say this is the best film i`ve ever seen. straight from the start it grabs the attention with it`s amazing opeing soundtrack and interesting opening scene. the dialogue between the characters is amazing and cruise and cruz`s chemistry is heartbreakingly beautiful. the storyline may not be what most people would realistic, but what the film teaches you is the power of the human mind, not reality. the most rewarding two hours of cinema you`ll see. the soundtrack is also the best i`ve ever heard. if you haven`t seen this film you`re missing out on what cinema can really do
