I begin this review by saying i love the TV Show.Movies based on Tv Shows can be Hit and miss, this however captures the Essence of the Show. It is a Very Funny movie. All the original Gang are in this. The widescreen picture is without doubt the best its ever been and i am unanimous with my friends who couldnt believe how good it looked compared to TV prints. A Great Movie That Includes its original trailer.Well Worth Buying.

I have to admit - I just love the series. The characters in the show are all top notch, the low-level humor is outstanding and the slapstick jokes really work in the series.
However, the movie was a major disappointed for me. It seems that once you`ve taken the Grace Brothers department store from the picture - things start to get messy. The jokes are no longer funny. The characters are simply a shadow of their department store selves. And the story - oh, well, it`s pitiful.
The video transfer is ok (for a late 70`s movie). There are no compression signs but the colors seem a little bit washed out.
The DD 1.0 soundtrack is as flat as a mono track can get. And hey - I guess things aren`t that funny in mono. :)
The menus are still and silent.
The disc offers no extras at all.
Bottom line - if you love the show, avoid this movie - it`ll ruin the series` pleasure for you. In case you don`t like the show or don`t know the show - forget it. Skip it.
