Synopsis:
Loveable rogue Joe Blake (Willis) and his hypochondriac sidekick Terry Collins (Thornton) are a modern day Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid who break out of jail to revive their career as bank robbers and finance their dream of retiring to Mexico. Instead of bursting in with guns blazing, however, they hit on a plan to hold bank managers and their families hostage in their own homes the night before the heist. The next morning they get the manager to let them into the bank before anyone arrives so that they can rob it with the minimum of fuss. This great gimmick soon makes them the most famous thieves in the country and earns them the nickname "the Sleepover Bandits".

But things become more complicated when they mistakenly kidnap a beautiful but bored housewife Kate Wheeler (Blanchett) who`s looking for a bit of excitement in her life. Kate soon joins the famous fugitives on their cross-country crime spree and eventually she steals something too -their hearts. Both bickering bank robbers fall for their housewife hostage and their perfect life of crime soon becomes a lot more complicated!
