Your Opinions and Comments
The video transfer is ok. While there are no apparent compression signs, the transfer reveals some scratches and blemishes, especially in the opening scene.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. The surrounds are nicely used to enhance the so called "sounds of nature".
The menus nicely are animated with sound.
The extras include a short behind the scenes look. That`s it.
Bottom line - a really enjoyable movie, that is, if you don`t try to take it too seriously.
"Lake Placid" revisited - February 2005
******************************************
Almost three and a half years after watching the movie for the very first time, I got a chance to watch it again. Yeah, I guess it`s "back to the lake" for me.
The movie somehow manages to keep its charm. And yeah, aligators do have some charm, you know... .
The lake`s visuals are truly stunning and the special effects are still impressive.
Notice that no real alligators were hurt during the production of this movie. Real humans were hurt, though. ;)
