Synopsis:
Micheal Douglas and Val Kilmer star in this tense, terrific and true adventure set in 1896 East Africa. There, two lions on a man-eating rampage have shut down the construction of a railway. The beasts hunt together, showing no fear of man or fire. What`s more, they`re killing for sport rather than for food - and they have an almost supernatural knack for knowing what traps await them. Big-game hunter Remington (Douglas) and construction engineer Patterson (Kilmer) set out to stop these unstoppable monsters. But, in this astonishing tale of man against beast, the hunters become the hunted.

Take "Jaws", put it in Africa, replace the shark with 2 deadly man-eating lions and you`ve got the script for this movie.
While I find the idea of hunting animals (for whatever reason) appalling, this movie can be enjoyed, especially due to its striking African scenes.
The video transfer is ok. There are no compression signs but the transfer is not clear of dust particles and a few scratches.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. Africa comes out through all the surrounds very nicely. The sub gets a hell of a workout during the numerous roar scenes.
The menus are still and silent.
The disk offers no extras at all.
Bottom line - an average story that gets a bit too long. Watch it for the beautiful African savanna scenes.
