This is a film that deserves so much better. It is a wonderfully dark superhero film, with an OK transfer and audio quality and that`s about it.... no, sorry... I lied - there are the production notes.

This film is much darker and grittier that the next 3 instalments. Batman Returns has a little more humour, Batman Forever moves into a totally different genre of film (although I still liked it) and Batman & Robin... well don`t even get me started on that travesty of a film! Sorry! Got a bit carried away there! Where was I? Oh yes, Batman - great film, great direction from Tim Burton and great performances from the 2 leads. Jack Nicholson is excellent as ever as the joker, and Michael Keaton was also very good as the masked crusader himself (even though I thought he was not an obvious choice for the role).

All in all a bit of a classic film (well maybe not yet - but it will be!), just a pity about the rest of the disc!
